Salary: Not-Ordinarily Resident: in accordance with FP Scale (Position Grade FP-BB). Contingent upon availability of funding; Ordinarily Resident: in accordance with LCP (starting annual salary is: $ 6,433)

The U.S. Embassy in Ashgabat is seeking an individual for the position of Chauffeur in the General Services Office.
BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION
Serves as a Motor Pool chauffeur, driving official vehicles to transport Embassy staff and official visitors. Performs messenger and delivery work. Work schedule may involve evening, weekends and/or holidays.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
All applicants must address each selection criterion detailed below with specific and comprehensive information supporting each item. Language proficiency will be tested.
1) Education: Completion of secondary school is required.
2) Experience: Two years as a professional driver.
3) Language: Level II English (basic knowledge), Level III (good working knowledge) Russian and Turkmen are required.
4) Knowledge: Must be familiar with local traffic laws and area traffic patterns. Must be knowledgeable about location of key Government of Turkmenistan offices, institutions, ministries, etc.
5) Skills and Abilities: Ability to operate Embassy vehicles in accordance with USG standards and local traffic laws/regulations. Ability to perform routine preventive maintenance. Driver’s license of “B”,”C”,”D” categories (copy of driver’s license should be attached to the application form).
SELECTION PROCESS
When equally qualified, US Citizen Eligible Family Members (AEFMs) and U.S. Veterans will be given preference. Therefore, it is essential that the candidate address the required qualifications above in the application.
ADDITIONAL SELECTION CRITERIA
1. Management will consider nepotism/conflict of interest, budget, and residency status in determining successful candidacy.
2. Current employees serving a probationary period are not eligible to apply.
3. Current Ordinarily Resident employees with an Overall Summary Rating of Needs Improvement or Unsatisfactory on their most recent Employee Performance Report are not eligible to apply.
4. Currently employed US Citizen EFMs who hold a Family Member Appointment (FMA) are ineligible to apply for advertised positions within the first 90 calendar days of their employment.
5. Currently employed NORs hired under a Personal Services Agreement (PSA) are ineligible to apply for advertised positions within the first 90 calendar days of their employment unless currently hired into a position with a When Actually Employed (WAE) work schedule.
