Non-Immigrant Visas
Applications by Third-Country Nationals
Before applying for a visa at the U.S. Embassy in Ashgabat, individuals from countries other than Turkmenistan must demonstrate that they have been resident in Turkmenistan for at least six months, that they have a valid Turkmen visa allowing them to return to Turkmenistan and that they are registered with the State Service for the Registration of Foreigners.
U.S. Non-immigrant Visa Services for Citizens of Iran
The U.S. Embassy in Ashgabat is not currently authorized to accept visa applications from citizens of Iran. While citizens of Iran may apply for a U.S. visa in any full-service U.S. Embassy around the world, the U.S. State Department has staffed certain Embassies and Consulates with Consular Officers who speak Farsi. These Embassies and Consulates specialize in questions concerning visa applications by Iranian citizens. These American Embassies and Consulates are located in Ankara, Istanbul, Abu Dhabi and Dubai.
