Notice of Temporary Closure

The U.S. Embassy in Ashgabat closed today, Tuesday, December 23, 2008 due to the discovery of an unidentified substance received through the mail. Turkmen law enforcement authorities are assisting the Embassy in investigating the matter. The Embassy will remain closed until further notice.
