Within the frame of her program in Ashgabat, Ms. Miles met with the actors of the Magtymguly Music and Drama Theater, Russian Pushkin Drama Theater, as well as students and teachers of the National Conservatory and Special Music Boarding School. At these venues she gave presentations about her career as an actor and a singer, as well as musical education in the United States.
Ms. Linda Miles graduated from college with a degree in Fine Arts and spent 25 years traveling and performing all over the world, including many musical productions such as “Phantom of the Opera” and “Sound of Music”. She also has an impressive theater resume, co-writing, producing and starring in many Off-Broadway productions. She has written over 30 musicals and programs for children, and currently works as a Music/Drama Teacher, teaching 450 students acting and drama at a private school in Albuquerque, NM.
Albuquerque, NM and Ashgabat, Turkmenistan have been sister cities for about 19 years and have conducted regular exchange visits.
