USAID Regional Director Evaluates Cooperation with Turkmenistan

Regional Director Willam Frej noted that he witnessed bilateral relationship between USAID and Turkmenistan expand and improve during the past year and a half of his work in Central Asia. He also noted that “this is due to the active and constructive cooperation between our two countries and our respective staffs in Ashgabat.” Speaking of USAID's future prospects for cooperation with Turkmenistan, Mr. Frej emphasized that “the USAID is looking forward to continuing cooperation with the people and Government of Turkmenistan.”
Since 1993, the American people through USAID have provided more than $80 million in programs that support Turkmenistan’s economic growth, social sector, and community initiatives.
