Scheduling visa interviews

Making appointments for visa interviews online

The Consular Section of the Embassy of the United States of America, Ashgabat announces a new method of making appointments for visa interviews:  Online.  Applicants can visit the Embassy’s website (http://turkmenistan.usembassy.gov/) and follow the links for visa applicants, or go directly to:

https://evisaforms.state.gov/default.asp?postcode=AKD&appcode=3

and schedule an interview immediately after filling out the application form online.

Online appointment scheduling is convenient, easy to use, and gives the applicant more flexibility in choosing an appointment time.  Applicants can still call the Consular Section Visa Information Line at (993 12) 35 00 49 from 16:00-17:00, Monday through Friday, to schedule an appointment.

Issued visas will be ready to pick up at 17:00 on the next working day after your interview. You should never pay for travel arrangements before you know you have received a visa.  The Consular Section of the U.S. Embassy accepts no responsibility if you do so, and is unable to expedite visa processing under any circumstances.

How to Request an Expedited Appointment

We strongly encourage you to plan in advance for your visa appointment.  However, in the case of unforeseen circumstances, you may request an expedited appointment for the following reasons:

  • Urgent business travel
  • Students
  • Family or Medical Emergency

In order to request an expedited appointment send a written request via fax (993-12)39-26-14 or e-mail (consularashgab@state.gov) explaining  the nature of the trip and why the next available appointment is too late to meet your needs.  If your request is approved, an appointment will be made for the earliest possible date to accommodate your anticipated travel schedule, based upon visa workload and other processing constraints.  If your request is denied, you will be informed of your appointment on the next available interview day.
