English Language Fellow
John Mark King is the Office of English Language Programs’ English Language Fellow in Turkmenistan. Mr. King works in tandem with the Public Affairs Section to promote English Language instruction through a variety of activities that includes both direct instruction to learners and training workshops for teachers. For the regular teacher training workshops, Mr. King uses the Office of English Language Programs’ new video series, “Shaping the Way We Teach English,” developed in cooperation with the University of Oregon.
Mr. King is a graduate of The American University in Washington, DC, where he earned a master’s degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages. His previous teaching experience has been in the United States as well as overseas in Uzbekistan and Bangladesh.
