The Cochran Fellowship program

The United States Department of Agriculture and the United States Embassy in Turkmenistan announce the Cochran Fellowship program for the year 2007. The program is sponsored by the U.S. Government and offers a two-week training program in America for agricultural specialists both from state and private sectors.

Since the program was initiated in Turkmenistan in 1993, over 100 Turkmen specialists have been provided training in the U.S. on a variety of agricultural topics including plant protection, animal health, water management, agribusiness development, and farm management.

Selection is competitive, based on an application review and an interview with a program representative. Only the most competitive candidates will be invited for an interview. Final selections are made by the Cochran program office in Washington.

Applications for the program are available in print at the U.S Embassy in Ashgabat or can be downloaded from the Exchange Programs Page.
