Community Connections Program
Emergency Medicine and Road Traffic Incidents
The U.S. Agency for International Development is pleased to announce the beginning of recruitment for the “Emergency Medicine and Road Traffic Incidents” Community Connections Program. Community Connections is a program of cultural and professional exchange for Turkmenistan professionals. Finalists of this program will travel to the United States to participate in a three-week training in the Fall 2009.
The aim of this program is to provide participants with the opportunity to learn about best practices and successful models in the field of emergency care and medicine in the U.S. Program participants will be introduced to strategies employed by U.S. health care organizations to ensure access to high-quality emergency medical care, injury prevention, and disaster preparedness.
Qualified candidates must be:
- Instructors from the Emergency Medical Services Training Center “Tiz Komek”;
- Emergency doctors (Emergency Ambulance Stations);
- Emergency physicians from hospital emergency departments;
- Representatives of the Informational Center “Saglyk” under the Ministry of Healthcare of Turkmenistan;
- Traumatologists that deliver emergency care services to people injured in road traffic crashes.
Application forms can be obtained at the American Councils office in Ashgabat (48A Gerogly Street) or at the American Corners in Dashoguz, Turkmenabat, and Mary or can be downloaded from the right side feature box.
The deadline for application submission is June 23, 2009.
